Frequently Asked Questions about Charts and Data
How to change the state or district for charting voter data
Use the ZIP code search or select a **State** and **House District** from the form, then choose *Show Charts*. The charts will automatically refresh with the new district’s data.
How is my age represented in the voter data charts?
The charts use your numeric age to highlight the corresponding segment in age-based charts. If the data is displayed in demographic buckets, your age will be placed in the closest bucket for comparison.
Why doesn’t my income appear in the poverty data chart?
The poverty chart focuses on populations at or below the federal poverty line. If your income is above that threshold, we note this in the chart description rather than highlighting a specific bar.
Can I download or share the data charts?
Yes. Simply right-click (or long-press on mobile) the chart and select *Save image as…* to download a copy. For added convenience, explicit “Download PNG” buttons can also be included.
Why is a data chart empty or missing labels?
Some districts may have limited or incomplete data for certain metrics. If you encounter this, try selecting another district. If the issue persists after a page refresh, it is likely due to a data gap from the U.S. Census Bureau.
How can I reset the voter data search form?
To reset, clear the inputs or reload the page. Then, you can enter a new state or district and submit again.
