Frequently Asked Questions
What data is shown on the dashboard?
Population, median age, household income, poverty rate, unemployment, insurance coverage, homeownership, and home value — plus detailed breakdowns of age, race, education, income, occupation, industry, housing, and commute mode.
Can I compare two districts?
Yes. After viewing one district's dashboard, click "Compare with another district" to add a second. Charts display grouped bars and stat cards show the difference between them.
Where does the data come from?
All data is sourced from the U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 5-year estimates, aggregated to U.S. House congressional districts.
Why is some data missing or showing N/A?
Some districts have limited data for certain metrics due to Census Bureau suppression rules for small populations. If a value shows N/A, the data wasn't available for that district.
Can I download or share a chart?
Right-click (or long-press on mobile) any chart and select "Save image as…" to download a copy.
How do I change the district?
Use the ZIP code lookup or select a state and district from the form, then click "Explore District."
